Los comienzos de Lorenzo Musetti

Lorenzo Musetti llama la atención del mundo del tenis gracias a su talento y su estilo de juego único.

Nació en Carrara, Italia, el 3 de marzo de 2002. Sus padres son Stefano y Antonella, propietarios de una empresa de mármoles y granitos en Carrara.

Desde muy joven Lorenzo tuvo una gran pasión por el tenis. Sus padres, que también eran aficionados al tenis, lo apoyaron en su carrera deportiva desde el principio.

Fue su padre, en particular, quien lo introdujo en el mundo del tenis y se convirtió en su primer entrenador.

Musetti comenzó su carrera en el Club de Tenis de Carrara, donde empezó a entrenar precisamente con su padre.

Más tarde, se trasladó a Florencia para entrenar en la Academia de Tenis de Piatti, donde comenzó a trabajar con su entrenador actual, Simone Tartarini.

Tartarini es un entrenador de tenis italiano que ha entrenado a varios jugadores de élite, como Andrea Gaudenzi, Fabio Fognini y Paolo Lorenzi.

En la Academia de Tenis de Piatti, Lorenzo se destacó rápidamente como uno de los jugadores más prometedores de Italia.

A los 14 años, ganó el Campeonato Nacional de Tenis Sub-14 de Italia, lo que le valió el reconocimiento como uno de los jóvenes talentos más prometedores del tenis italiano.

En junior obtuvo varios títulos importantes. En 2019, ganó el Campeonato de Italia y alcanzó la final del Campeonato de Europa.

El salto de Lorenzo Musetti al profesionalismo

En 2020, Musetti decidió dar el salto al tenis profesional y debutó en el ATP Challenger Tour en la ciudad de Bergamo, Italia.

A pesar de ser un recién llegado, impresionó a todos con su actuación en el torneo, llegando a la final y venciendo a jugadores de mayor rango en el camino.

En el ATP Masters 1000 de Acapulco 2021, Musetti logró otra actuación destacada, llegando a las semifinales y venciendo a rivales de renombre como Grigor Dimitrov y Diego Schwartzman nuevamente.

El punto cumbre del inicio de la carrera de Musetti fue sin duda el Masters de Roma 2021, donde se convirtió en la gran sorpresa del torneo. Venció a top 10 del ranking mundial, Stan Wawrinka en la primera ronda, y luego a Kei Nish
